Here comes the brand new trailer for the new German movie "Cold Storage".

It´s a little action / horror / fantasy tale about a group of people who need to go down into some old German bunkers where they explore a terrifying secret. The trailer is produced by Starcrest Media in association with Magna Mana Production GmbH. Postproduction by Magna Mana Production GmbH and Solid Ground Entertainment GmbH. It is filmed with our brand new Red One 4K camara.

I composed the score mostly with EWQL Orchestra Gold, Colossus, Stormdrum and Synphonic Choir with some little help of Korg Legacy. When we first met, the director wanted a lot more synthetic sounds, but when he got my first demo he liked the orchestral sounds too, so we added more of them. I tried to add a little Russian theme when they enter the bunker, because most of the intruders are Russians.

While working on the score I started with sound FX. Evrything is composed and mixed in Nuendo at Solid Ground Entertainment Studio http://www.solid-ground-entertainment.com For the final mix, I made a seperate project including a stereo mixdown of the music, sound FX, foley and voiceover. A final Dolby 7.1 mixing for cinematic print is in progress at the moment in our studio in Berlin.

I also had the pleasure to contribute some digital matte paintings for the trailer. You can see some of them here:

All in all it was great fun and I´m looking forward scoring the whole movie.

So, here is our trailer in small HD resolution as quicktime or windowsMedia9 HD. I hope you enjoy it.

Dolby 7.1 Cinematic ??

Although they advertise 7.1 for home, they do not for Cinema/Theatrical release.

And although Digital Cinema specifies more channels, I have yet to see more than 5.1.

Cool project and trailer. Well Done !!!

Ups, sorry my error. 5.1 is the right answer. Sure...it would be nice to have a mix with more channels. Maybe on the next Imax movie ;-)

Thanks for the nice comments!

Best regards,
Jack
